Chandigarh, Sep 22 (PTI) Haryana Congress chief Rao Narender Singh on Tuesday met the party’s national president Mallikarjun Kharge and discussed the state unit’s ongoing organisational programmes and other issues.
During the meeting in New Delhi, the two leaders held a detailed discussion on the prevailing political situation in Haryana, the ongoing organisational programmes of the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC), and the party’s roadmap and priorities in the next few months, the state unit said.
Rao Narender Singh said his interaction with Kharge was extremely cordial and positive.
He briefed the Congress president on various public interest programmes undertaken by the Haryana PCC over the last two months.
He also apprised Kharge of the dharnas, protests and mass movements organised by the party on various issues concerning the people of Haryana and against “the anti-people policies” of the BJP governments at the Centre and in the state.
Singh further informed Kharge about the three-month organisational roadmap prepared by the Haryana PCC.
The roadmap focuses on further strengthening the party organisation down to the booth level, activating and mobilising Congress workers, and taking up issues affecting the people through sustained programmes, outreach initiatives and mass movements across Haryana.
According to Singh, Kharge expressed satisfaction with the organisational work undertaken by the Haryana PCC in the last two months and appreciated the roadmap prepared for the next three months.
Kharge emphasised the importance of further strengthening the organisation at the grassroots level, keeping Congress workers actively engaged, and consistently raising issues concerning the people.
Singh said the guidance and suggestions shared by the Congress president would provide momentum to the party’s organisational efforts in Haryana.
He reiterated the state unit’s commitment to strengthening the organisation at every level and to raise the issues and concerns of the people with greater consistency and determination. PTI SUN RUK
