New Delhi, Oct 11: Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) leaders on Sunday vowed to continue their protests against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, alleging that the Modi government had created an “emergency-like situation” in Delhi.

The party accused the government of restricting democratic protests through train cancellations, limitations on demonstrations and the detention of activists. The leaders said they would continue their agitation in Delhi and other parts of the country.

CJP leader Saurav Das alleged that the government was using state machinery against its own citizens instead of allowing them to exercise their democratic right to protest. He questioned why the authorities had not invited a delegation for talks rather than restricting protesters who wanted to demonstrate at a designated protest site.

Das also criticised the conditions imposed on the leaders following their release from detention. According to him, the authorities had warned them against any breach of peace for one year.

“The breach of peace has been caused by Narendra Modi, Amit Shah and Gyanesh Kumar,” Das said, rejecting the allegations against the detained leaders.

Reaffirming the party’s commitment to its agitation, Das said the protests would continue beyond the national capital.

“The protests are on… Protests will happen not just in Delhi but the whole country,” he said.

The CJP’s announcement signals its intention to continue its campaign against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. The party is demanding accountability from the Election Commission leadership and has criticised the authorities’ handling of its planned demonstrations.

The developments have intensified the political debate over the right to peaceful protest, police restrictions and the functioning of democratic institutions in India.
