New Delhi, Oct 7: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday gave a new call for India’s development, saying the country will become a developed nation by 2047. At the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Sabha, Modi coined the slogan “We Will Do It” and said the collective strength of 140 crore Indians would drive India towards its long-term goals.
Addressing the gathering to mark 25 years of his continuous service as head of government, Modi said India has the potential to achieve targets that once appeared impossible.
“The dream we are seeing today in 2026 of a developed India will surely come true. There is no reason for India to stop now,” Modi said.
He said India’s population has grown from less than 40 crore a century ago to more than 140 crore today, and stressed that the country’s citizens together can build a developed India by 2047.
PM Modi Highlights ‘We Will Do It’ Vision
Modi listed several ambitious targets for India and repeated the slogan “We Will Do It”.
Viksit Bharat by 2047 — We Will Do It.
Top three economy — We Will Do It.
Self-reliant India — We Will Do It.
Global manufacturing hub — We Will Do It.
Hosting the Olympics — We Will Do It.
Stepping into space — We Will Do It.
The Prime Minister said these goals would require visionary policies, sustained efforts and the participation of citizens across the country.
“India may have challenges, but we also have 140 crore solutions,” Modi said.
Modi Flags Caste-Based Political Divisions
While outlining his vision for a developed India, Modi also cautioned against political divisions based on caste and community for electoral gains.
He said problems such as water shortages and lack of electricity do not affect only one caste or community. Therefore, he argued, solutions should also benefit everyone.
“When a farmer’s field lacks water, does the problem affect only one caste? When there is no electricity, does darkness fall only on one community?” Modi asked.
He stressed that development should be inclusive and focused on the needs of all citizens.
25 Crore People Moved Out of Poverty
Modi highlighted poverty reduction as one of the major achievements of the past decade.
He said many people would not have believed that 25 crore people could move out of poverty within a decade, but India had achieved it.
The Prime Minister said the achievement demonstrated the strength and potential of the country’s population.
“After 25 years of experience, I can say with confidence that we are witnessing India’s transformation right before our eyes,” he said.
Modi Marks 25 Years as Head of Government
October 7 marks 25 years since Narendra Modi first became head of a government. He took oath as the Chief Minister of Gujarat on October 7, 2001, and later became Prime Minister after leading the BJP to victory in three consecutive Lok Sabha elections.
Reflecting on the milestone, Modi expressed gratitude to the people of India, BJP workers, NDA partners and those who respect democracy.
He also paid tribute to the Constitution and said that the trust of the people has been his biggest strength.
“For me, people are God; hardworking BJP workers are my strength,” Modi said.
Modi Says Experience Belongs to the Nation
The Prime Minister said his 25 years of political experience should not be viewed as a personal asset but as something that belongs to the country.
He said every experience, including criticism and challenges, had helped him learn and grow.
“My teachers taught me humility. Those who brought me down taught me how to rise again. My supporters encouraged me, while my critics taught me to look within,” Modi said.
‘Action Is My Religion’, Says PM Modi
Modi said his political journey had been guided by the principle of selfless service rather than personal ambition.
He said he had worked for the organisation and accepted responsibilities as they came.
“Life had just one aim: selfless service for the country. For me, action is everything; action is my religion,” he said.
The Prime Minister added that his commitment to work for the country and its citizens would continue.
‘We Will Do It’ Becomes Modi’s New Development Call
Concluding his address, Modi said the occasion should not be viewed merely as a moment to remember the past but as an opportunity to give new energy to India’s future goals.
He called for renewed determination to achieve the vision of Viksit Bharat by 2047, saying the country has the population, potential and confidence needed to reach its goals.
“We Will Do It”, Modi said, underlining his message that India can overcome its challenges and emerge as a developed nation by 2047.
