Krishnagiri (Tamil Nadu), Nov 5 Three workers died, and about ten others sustained injuries when an under-construction concrete structure collapsed at a footwear manufacturing unit near Hosur in this district, police said on Thursday.
The incident occurred at Vedarapalli within the SIPCOT police station limits.
The workers were engaged in pouring concrete for an arch-shaped roof when the scaffolding collapsed, leading to the mishap, police said.
The families of the deceased will be provided a solatium of Rs 8 lakh each from the Tamil Nadu Construction Workers Welfare Board Fund.
The SIPCOT police, besides fire and rescue services personnel, are engaged in clearing the rubble and ascertaining if anyone is trapped under the debris.
