Kolkata, Sep 22 (PTI) Members of a teachers’ organisation on Tuesday took out a rally to the School Service Commission (SSC) headquarters here, demanding speedy completion of the recruitment process for the second State Level Selection Test held in 2025.
Around 200 members of the West Bengal Untainted Teachers’ Association (WBUTA) took part in the rally from near the cricket stadium at Karunamoyee to the SSC headquarters.
They demanded that the remaining counselling process for recruitment of teachers for Class 11 and 12 be completed at the earliest and interviews of candidates called for verification be started without delay.
They also sought early completion of the recruitment processes for Group C and Group D posts.
The WBUTA demanded “justice, opportunity and assured recruitment”.
WBUTA leader Mrinmoy Mandal said the new BJP government should do its bit to ensure the recruitment of 25,753 teachers rendered jobless following the April 2025 Supreme Court order, which termed the 2016 recruitment process tainted and vitiated.
