Patna, Nov 4 Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Wednesday charged Congress leader Rahul Gandhi with making the “crazy” allegation of “vote theft” out of frustration over “losing one election after another”.
The senior BJP leader, who was in Bihar to take part in the party’s ‘Loktantra Bachao, Arajakta Hatao’ (Save Democracy, Remove Anarchy) march, spoke to journalists in the northeastern district of Purnea, and later in the state capital before boarding his return flight.
“Rahul Gandhi is a crazy person. He has been losing one election after another and then raises the slogan of vote chori,” snapped Sarma when journalists in Purnea asked him about the relentless campaign of the leader of the opposition in the Lok Sabha.
The Assam CM, who joined the BJP 12 years ago after quitting the Congress, added, “We have taken out this padyatra to drive home the point that the country will be ruled by the law of the land, passed by Parliament. There is no space for ‘arajakta’ (anarchy), and the people of the country are with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.”
Notably, the BJP has launched its country-wide campaign as a counter attack, in the wake of the Congress, the Left and other INDIA bloc partners, besides the Cockroach Janta Party, raising the demand for resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
Later, in Patna, Sarma told reporters, “I will advise Rahul Gandhi to undergo training, for a month, in the BJP. He will realise that we steal hearts and not votes. Our ‘dil chori’ happens through steps like construction of Ram temple and scrapping of Article 370.”
“The latest such step was taken today by the Modi government, which has extended the tour of duty for Agniveers from four to six years. In addition, all states ruled by the BJP-led NDA have reserved quotas for discharged Agniveers in the police,” Sarma added.
