New Delhi, Nov 3 Surendra Jain, the central joint general secretary of the Vishva Hindu Parishad, on Tuesday said the opposition’s “dream” of bringing about a “regime change” in India will never be fulfilled, accusing the opposition parties of attempting to create “anarchy” after failing to change the government through democratic means.

“India offers the finest example of how smoothly a change of government takes place through democratic means. Elections are held and governments are changed through the democratic process here,” Jain told reporters here.

“The people of this country have removed even those who considered themselves supreme and powerful rulers. But anyone dreaming of repeating a Bangladesh or Nepal in India or creating anarchy here is living in a fool’s paradise. They should stop seeing such dreams,” he said.

Jain also claimed that people have identified those attempting to create unrest and are teaching them a lesson, which is why “such elements are nowhere to be seen on the country’s political stage”.

“Their future is dark. They know they cannot bring about a change in government through votes. That is why they want to create anarchy, as was seen in Bangladesh and elsewhere. But this is not possible in India. All their experiments so far have failed,” he said.

On the Gen-Z movement, Jain said confusion is being spread in the name of the younger generation.

“They want people to believe that a handful of youths gathering at the Jantar Mantar and other places, using abusive language and behaving indecently, represent Gen Z. They are living in a big illusion. The people of the country do not recognise this category,” he said.

Jain also claimed that India’s youth remain connected to the country’s roots and spirituality and do not accept such behaviour.

“If 100 youths raise ‘Bharat tere tukde honge’ slogans at JNU, 5,000 youths take out a unity march carrying the tricolour at India Gate the very next day,” he alleged.

Questioning whether those participating in such protests represent the country’s youth, Jain claimed that more than 20 crore people, including a large number of young people, attended the Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj last year.

“Are they not Gen Z? More people attend the Kumbh Mela than the numbers these people can mobilise,” he said.

Jain also cited the recruitment of young people into the armed forces, saying those in the age group of 20 to 25 represent the country’s “real youth”.

“Are they not Gen Z? They are India’s real youth, which is the country’s real strength. These young people will not allow any anarchic elements to succeed,” he said.

The opposition has been accused of attempting to bring about a “regime change” in India by creating unrest and drawing inspiration from the political developments in Bangladesh, Nepal and Sri Lanka.

The allegation gained momentum after senior advocate Prashant Bhushan recently said at a press conference that “we all want regime change”.
