Jaipur, Sep 22 (PTI) A 30-year-old operator was killed after the earthmoving machine he was operating slipped and plunged into a deep stone quarry in Jaipur’s Daulatpura police station area, police said on Tuesday.
The incident occurred at Khora Shyamdas on Monday evening.
According to police, work was underway at the quarry when the machine suddenly slipped and fell into the pit. The operator, identified as Chetlal Pandit, also fell and died in the accident.
Pandit, a resident of Jharkhand’s Hazaribagh district, had been operating such machines for around eight to 10 years, police said.
Police reached the spot after being informed about the accident and shifted the body to the mortuary at Kanwatia Hospital.
The body will be handed over to his family after post-mortem, police said, adding that further investigation was underway. PTI SDA MDO
