Patna, Nov 4 Jan Suraaj Party founder Prashant Kishor on Wednesday mocked Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary over his recent remark on “crime and apraadh”, saying such statements could be expected when a “Class 7-fail person” is made a leader.

Addressing a gathering in Begusarai on Wednesday, Kishor said the chief minister gives people an opportunity to laugh every five to ten days through his remarks.

Choudhary on Tuesday claimed at an event in New Delhi that there could be some ‘apraadh’ (offence) in the state, but it has got rid of crimes.

“Hamare yahan koi apraadh nahi hai. Apraadh ka concept hi khatam ho chuka hai. Crime ho sakte hain, lekin apraadh nahi, koi apraadhi nahi hai (There is no crime in Bihar. The very concept of crime has been eliminated. There may be crimes, but there is no ‘apraadh’. There are no criminals),” the chief minister had said.

Kishor said, “When a person who has failed Class 7 is made a leader, such statements can be expected. The CM gives people an opportunity to laugh every five to ten days.”

Commenting on two Independent MLCs joining the BJP, Kishor said both were likely to lose their membership for allegedly indulging in unconstitutional activities, and even a BJP government could not save them.

Independent MLCs Banshidhar Brajwasi and Rahul Raj announced on October 31 that they have joined the BJP, days after they were elected to the Bihar Legislative Council. Opposition parties demanded disqualification of both legislators under the anti-defection law.

On the Madhubani incident in which an assistant sub-inspector of police fired from his service revolver, killing one and injuring three others, Kishor said Jan Suraaj Party stood firmly with the victim’s family.

A party delegation met the family on Wednesday, and further steps would be taken based on the findings, he added.

The ASI allegedly opened fire after being caught inside the house of his alleged paramour in a village in Madhubani district, causing casualties, before fleeing the spot. The police have been searching for him.
