Vijayawada, Sep 17: The Andhra Pradesh government has decided to hand over the recruitment of Veterinary Assistant Surgeons back to the APPSC.
According to the latest government orders, the recruitment process will now be conducted throughAndhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) and candidates will be selected through a written examination.
The decision comes amid a controversy over the proposed recruitment process. Reports had raised concerns about plans to fill the Veterinary Assistant Surgeon posts without conducting a written examination, with questions being raised over transparency and the possibility of irregularities.
Following a series of reports by Sakshi TV highlighting the issue and raising concerns on behalf of unemployed candidates, the government has reconsidered its earlier decision and issued fresh orders changing the recruitment procedure.
Under the revised process, APPSC will be responsible for conducting the recruitment of Veterinary Assistant Surgeons. Candidates will have to appear for a written examination, following which the selection process will be carried out.
The government’s latest decision effectively restores APPSC’s role in the recruitment process and replaces the earlier proposal to make appointments without a written examination.
The recruitment will therefore proceed through a competitive examination conducted by the state public service commission, according to the latest government orders.
