- A conspiracy to loot the offerings made by crores of devotees
- Chandrababu government committing a grave sin
- Eyeing the funds meant for temple development through the SRIVANI Trust
- Transparent tenders and work allocation during the YSRCP government
- Coalition government halted all these works after coming to power
- Opening doors for corruption by issuing works without tenders
- Criticism over enabling loot instead of restoring temples
- The same yellow media that once attacked SRIVANI is now scripting large-scale exploitation
- Can nomination-based contracts be called transparency?
- How are SRIVANI tickets ending up in the hands of brokers?
- Chandrababu government has no answers to any of these questions
The Chandrababu government is now committing another grave wrongdoing even in the construction and restoration of sacred temples. YSRCP strongly condemned the conspiracy to loot the offerings made by crores of devotees in the name of Lord Venkateswara. The same yellow media ecosystem, which earlier carried out relentless propaganda against the prestigious SRIVANI Trust and temple restoration works undertaken during the YSRCP government, is now facilitating corruption by enabling contracts without tenders. YSRCP alleged that this is nothing short of organized plunder of devotees’ offerings made to Lord Venkateswara.
YS Jagan’s Spiritual Initiatives
With the vision that spirituality should flourish in Andhra Pradesh and society should move on the path of righteousness, the YSRCP government undertook several major initiatives. YSR Jagan transformed the State from Chandrababu’s “temple demolition regime” into a governance model focused on temple construction and restoration. Despite false propaganda and repeated allegations from political opponents, the measures taken by Y.S. Jagan for Hindu dharma and spiritual revival remain historic and unforgettable.
Temple restoration works under YSRCP
With the blessings of Lord Venkateswara, the YSRCP government launched the prestigious SRIVANI Trust initiative to restore thousands of neglected temples across the State. The objective was that every temple should flourish with the same spiritual grandeur associated with Tirumala. Under this initiative, restoration works were undertaken in 4,111 temples across Andhra Pradesh. Many of these works were completed, while several others were in progress when the YSRCP government left office.
Burial of the Tender System
YSRCP stated that Chandrababu has already captured contracts in sectors such as sand, liquor, mines, medical colleges, and Amaravati projects for the benefit of himself and his associates. Now, even the temple development works funded through SRIVANI are being brought under the same corrupt system.
During the YSRCP government, all works were awarded transparently through tenders. However, within just three months of coming to power in August 2024, Chandrababu allegedly halted all temple restoration works after holding a review meeting with the Endowments Department. YSRCP accused him of not only failing to construct or restore temples but also opening corruption channels even in sacred temple works.
Only Yellow-Shirt Loyalists get Contracts?
YSRCP alleged that Chandrababu introduced “Red Book governance” and “Political Governance,” where benefits, schemes, and contracts are allegedly reserved only for TDP loyalists. Officials are allegedly pressured to favor anyone associated with the ruling party. According to YSRCP, even temple contracts under SRIVANI are now becoming victims of this politically driven corruption model.
Endless sins against Tirumala
YSRCP stated that Chandrababu’s political journey of “sins” that began decades ago in Tirupati has now expanded into TTD affairs. The party accused him of using Tirumala and TTD itself for political vendetta against opponents.
YSRCP recalled how Chandrababu made sensational allegations regarding adulterated ghee and animal fat in Tirumala laddus without evidence, hurting the sentiments of crores of devotees and tarnishing the sanctity of Tirumala. The party described the propaganda carried out with the support of yellow media as one of the darkest chapters in Andhra Pradesh’s spiritual history.
Reopening closed issues for Political Revenge
YSRCP alleged that Chandrababu revived the Parakamani issue, despite the matter already being settled in court, solely for political vendetta. The party accused him of damaging Tirumala’s reputation and even indirectly contributing to the death of a police CI by politicizing the matter.
More drama around the Laddu issue
After the “Parakamani drama” failed, Chandrababu allegedly revived the laddu controversy once again. YSRCP pointed out that even the CBI-SIT appointed under Supreme Court supervision reportedly clarified that there was no animal fat in the laddus, yet Chandrababu allegedly constituted his own commissions and committees to target the previous administration.
YSRCP sarcastically remarked that instead of forming official committees, Chandrababu might as well appoint media houses like Eenadu, Andhra Jyothy, and TV5 as inquiry panels since they already appear to know his political intentions.
Earlier propaganda against SRIVANI
Before elections, YSRCP said massive misinformation was spread against the SRIVANI Trust, alleging that funds were being diverted and looted. False reports claimed that for every Rs. 10,500 donation, receipts were issued only for Rs. 500. YSRCP questioned why the present government itself is now issuing receipts only for Rs. 500 and not Rs. 10,500 if those allegations were genuine.
Is building temples also a Crime?
YSRCP questioned whether constructing temples with SRIVANI funds can be portrayed as corruption or favoritism. The party asked why the current government, which once accused YSRCP of lacking transparency, has now scrapped the tender system and moved toward nomination-based allotments. “Can nomination-based contracts be called transparency?” YSRCP asked.
Why increase SRIVANI tickets by 2,000?
YSRCP pointed out that TTD Chairman B.R. Naidu had once said the SRIVANI scheme itself would be abolished. Yet, not only was it retained, but the number of SRIVANI tickets has now reportedly been increased by another 2,000 compared to the YSRCP period.
The party questioned who is truly driven by greed and whether Tirumala is being treated as a sacred pilgrimage center or a commercial enterprise. YSRCP also questioned how SRIVANI tickets are ending up with brokers within minutes of release and demanded answers on who is running this alleged racket.
Attempting to swallow the Sanctity of Temples
YSRCP accused Chandrababu and his allies of constantly spreading communal poison against YSRCP while themselves failing to do anything positive for Hindu dharma. The party alleged that the current rulers are attempting to corrupt and commercialize even the sacred institutions of Tirumala and warned that those responsible for degrading Tirumala’s sanctity would eventually face consequences.
