Gangtok, Oct 29 Traffic movement on a stretch of National Highway 10 between Rangpo and Ranipool in Sikkim will be restricted for eight hours every night from October 29 to November 4 for emergency works, according to an official order.
The restriction will be in force from 9 pm to 5 am, the order issued by the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd (NHIDCL) said.
It said the restrictions were necessary to facilitate full-fledged two-way traffic works.
Light motor vehicles have been advised to take the Rangpo-Duga-Pendam-Singtam route or the Mamring-Namthang-Singtam-Gangtok route. An alternative route for all classes of vehicles will be Rangpo-Rorathang-Pakyong-Gangtok, it was advised.
The district administration has been requested to make the necessary traffic-regulation arrangements to ensure smooth movement of vehicles on the alternative routes.
