Wardha, Nov 2 A video has surfaced showing Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari reprimanding a road contractor for substandard work in Wardha district of Maharashtra.
The incident took place on Sunday when Gadkari laid the foundation stone for a Multimodal Logistics Park (MMLP) at Sindi town in Wardha district. Spread across 150.42 acres, the project is being developed by Maharashtra MMLP Pvt Ltd, a joint venture between National Highway Logistics Management Ltd (NHLML) and Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA).
Once fully developed, the MMLP will facilitate seamless road-rail freight movement, reduce logistics costs and transit time, strengthen supply chains and attract industrial investments. It will generate employment and boost regional economic activity, enhancing India’s trade competitiveness and contributing to the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047, according to a release issued by Gadkari’s office.
On the sidelines of the programme, a local MLA raised a complaint about poor work of one of the roads in Wardha.
In the video of the conversation, telecast on local news channels, Gadkari is seen reprimanding a road contractor for carrying out poor work of the pavement.
The BJP MP from Nagpur is heard telling the contractor he should be “ashamed of carrying out such poor work”.
