Hyderabad, Nov 3 With the objective of extending better healthcare services to tribal communities and raising awareness among the public to contribute to the overall development of villages, the Adilabad District Police organised a “Police Mee Kosam” programme at Cheruvuguda village.

As part of the programme, a free medical camp was organised for people from six villages with the participation of medical specialists, an official release said.

Speaking on the occasion, Adilabad District Superintendent of Police Akhil Mahajan advised people not to believe in superstitions or self-proclaimed godmen and to consult qualified doctors for health issues.

The SP urged people to stay away from ganja and other intoxicating substances and cautioned that involvement in ganja cultivation could result in losing eligibility for government welfare schemes.

He advised youth to stay away from unlawful activities and actively participate in village development, stating that peace and progress in villages are possible only when people remain away from anti-social elements.

He emphasised that equal educational opportunities should be provided to boys and girls.

The SP also encouraged women and girl students to approach the police without hesitation whenever they face any problems through ‘Police Akka’ or Dial 112.

Emphasising road safety, Mahajan appealed to everyone to follow traffic rules and take responsibility for preventing road accidents, the release added.
