Tiruchirappalli (Tamil Nadu), Oct 30 AIADMK chief Edappadi K Palaniswami on Friday labelled the ruling TVK regime a “reels government”, alleging that it was focused entirely on image management rather than tangible achievements or public welfare.

In contrast, the AIADMK had governed through hard work, he told reporters here, criticising the state government for allegedly neglecting development projects.

He defended the record of the previous AIADMK government, contrasting its initiatives, such as the creation of new districts, medical colleges and infrastructure projects, with what he described as the current government’s lack of tangible achievements.

Asked to rate the TVK government’s performance over the past six months, he gave it “minus zero”.

The former chief minister alleged a complete breakdown of law and order and said citizens no longer felt safe. He cited recurring incidents of public violence in which people were attacked in broad daylight without fear of consequences.

“The fundamental responsibility of any elected government is to protect its people, and on this front, the present regime has failed completely,” Palaniswami alleged.
