New Delhi, Nov 2 State-owned NBCC Ltd will construct the world’s largest statue of Maharana Pratap as part of development of a Rs 168 crore-tourist circuit at Haldighati in Rajasthan.

Maharana Pratap was ruler of the Kingdom of Mewar.

In a statement on Monday, NBCC said it will develop Maharana Pratap Tourist Circuit at Haldighati, as part of the Rajasthan government’s effort to preserve historical and cultural heritage.

The NBCC has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Department of Tourism, Government of Rajasthan, and the Rajasthan Heritage Authority (RHA).

As per the MoU, NBCC will undertake the planning, designing, execution, operation and maintenance of the identified works.

The project cost, as sanctioned by the Rajasthan government is Rs 168.39 crore (exclusive of GST), which includes the PMC (project management consultancy) fee of 4.25 per cent on the actual cost of the project.

“A major highlight of the proposed development will be the creation of the world’s tallest statue of Maharana Pratap at Haldighati, along with a world-class historical museum depicting the legendary warrior riding his iconic horse, Chetak,” NBCC said.

The project will feature a topographical projection show at the Haldighati Memorial. Historical significance and events of the Battle of Haldighati will be presented through an immersive visual experience.

NBCC said the circuit is expected to strengthen Haldighati’s position as an important heritage and tourism destination.

The circuit is expected to attract visitors from across the world, boosting the local economy.
