Thiruvananthapuram, Nov 4 Ahead of the inbound international tourist season, Keralam has drawn a steady stream of visitors and business partners to its stall at the WTM in London since the three-day expo opened on November 3, officials said.

World Travel Market London is a premier tourism fair that brings together top destinations and tourism buyers and sellers from across the world.

State Tourism Minister P C Vishnunadh is leading the Keralam delegation, which comprises trade representatives from leading travel and hospitality establishments in the state, according to an official statement. Keralam Tourism Director Anjana M, IAS, is also part of the delegation, it said.

Vishnunadh said Keralam’s shift to experiential tourism has drawn considerable interest at the expo, where the global travel and hospitality industry meets to form partnerships.

“There has been a renewed interest among travel enthusiasts in the unique attractions Keralam offers—whether the charming nature, vibrant culture and local community experience or Ayurveda-based wellness,” he said.

He said the state’s tourism sector has presented holistic packages that combine multiple experiences.

“Since this strategic shift is being received well around the world, we are expecting a further surge in arrivals during the upcoming season,” the minister added.

The Keralam Tourism Pavilion, spread over 100 sq m, has been set up on the theme “State of Wonder”. It recreates the spirit of the Pooram festivals and the state’s cultural heritage, with caparisoned elephants, colourful parasols and cultural displays.

Seven trade partners from the state are taking part in the event—three hotels and resorts, two Ayurvedic resorts and two tour operators, the statement said.
