Hyderabad, Oct 27 Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Tuesday alleged that anarchist elements were trying to create disruption in the country with the help of foreign funds, and said a rally would be held at Karimnagar on November 5 against such attempts.
Speaking to reporters at Peddapalli, about 200 km from here, he said people, especially the youth, should send a warning to those trying to trigger trouble in the country. He did not name any group or give specifics about the alleged foreign funding.
Opposition parties and those opposing the NDA government had no grounds to make allegations against it as there was no corruption and the country was witnessing rapid development, he said.
The (Narendra) Modi government was making efforts to ensure that the benefits of welfare schemes reached people even in remote villages, he said.
“So, left with no issues, they are trying to create destruction in the country with new ideas. Where are they getting money from? They are getting it from foreign countries. They say they will attack Parliament and the Prime Minister’s residence like in Bangladesh,” he said. He did not say who had made such statements.
The Telangana BJP is organising its first rally in Hyderabad on November 2 under the theme “Save Democracy – Remove Anarchy”, which will be attended by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, he said. This will be followed by a rally at Karimnagar on November 5.
Sanjay Kumar said there were no takers for the Congress rally planned against the SIR at Ramlila Maidan in Delhi on November 1.
He alleged that those who had illegally entered the country before 2014 had been given welfare benefits and identity cards such as Aadhaar.
“How can people who are not citizens of the country have voting rights?” he asked.
The SIR was meant to enrol new voters and remove the names of the dead and illegal infiltrators, he said.
Questioning how the BJP could influence Booth Level Officers (BLOs) during the SIR when the Congress was in power in Telangana, he said.
