Bhopal, Oct 30 Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Friday announced a 2 per cent hike in dearness allowance (DA) for state government employees, including officers, and pensioners, a decision coming ahead of Diwali.

This increased DA will be payable to employees from January 2026. Pensioners will benefit from the hike in dearness allowance from July 2026, an official said.

The chief minister shared this information on social media, stating that the government always stands with its employees.

Yadav said in a post, “The state government is increasing dearness allowance of employees and officers by 2 per cent. This will be payable from January.”

Arrears for nine months, from January to September, will be paid in three equal monthly instalments. The increased DA will be paid in cash from the October salary (payable in November), he stated.

Dearness relief for pensioners will be effective from July, the CM said.

“The government always stands with the interests of pensioners and employees and is continuously working keeping their welfare in mind. This increase in dearness allowance will provide financial relief to them,” he added.
