Amaravathi, Sep 21: YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has once again demanded a CBI inquiry into the alleged irregularities in the DSC teacher recruitment process. He made the demand after the YSR Congress Party held a protest in Vijayawada.
Jagan criticized the police action against YSRCP leaders, students and unemployed youth who came to the protest. He alleged that the protesters were stopped, beaten with batons and arrested while they were trying to hold a peaceful protest.
Jagan questioned Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and Education Minister Nara Lokesh over the DSC issue. He said that if the government is confident that the recruitment process was conducted fairly and transparently, there is no reason to fear a CBI inquiry.
He said the government should allow an independent investigation instead of giving itself a certificate that the recruitment process was transparent. According to Jagan, a CBI inquiry can clear the doubts surrounding the DSC recruitment and reveal the facts.
Jagan also questioned the police action in Vijayawada and asked whether the opposition has no right to hold peaceful protests in a democracy.
He said the DSC recruitment is important because the future of lakhs of young people is linked to these jobs. Many candidates spend years preparing for exams and spend a lot of money on their education and preparation. They deserve a fair and transparent recruitment process based on merit.
Jagan said the allegations surrounding the DSC recruitment have created doubts among job seekers. He said police action, arrests and restrictions cannot solve these concerns and that an independent inquiry is needed to restore confidence among the candidates.
Jagan also once again demanded the resignation of Education Minister Nara Lokesh over the alleged irregularities in the DSC recruitment process. He said the YSRCP will continue its fight until DSC candidates get justice
