Tirumala,Sep 16: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday offered silk robes (pattu vastrams) to Lord Venkateswara at the Tirumala temple on the occasion of the annual Srivari Brahmotsavams.
The offering marked a significant milestone, as this was the 15th time Chandrababu Naidu has presented silk robes to Lord Venkateswara in his capacity as Chief Minister.
Naidu reached Tirumala on Tuesday evening and proceeded to the Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple after visiting the Bedi Anjaneyaswami Temple. He participated in the traditional rituals and presented the silk robes on behalf of the Andhra Pradesh government.
The Chief Minister is also scheduled to participate in the Pedda Sesha Vahana Seva, one of the important events of the ongoing Brahmotsavams.
The nine-day Srivari Brahmotsavams began on Tuesday with the traditional Dhwajarohanam ceremony and will continue with a series of vahana sevas and religious programmes.
The TTD has made extensive arrangements for the annual festival, which attracts large numbers of devotees from across the country. Special measures have been put in place for crowd management, security, sanitation, drinking water and the distribution of Annaprasadam.
The Chief Minister’s 15th offering of silk robes adds another notable chapter to the long-standing tradition of the state government presenting pattu vastrams to Lord Venkateswara during the Brahmotsavams.
After the temple visit, Naidu is also scheduled to launch the 2027 calendars and diaries published by the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD).
