Beed, Nov 6 A 70-year-old man died while trying to rescue his wife after electric current spread through their house in Beed on Friday, a police official said.

The incident took place at 7 am in Kapildharwadi village, he said, adding the deceased was identified as Navnath Dagdu Shinde.

“His wife Ramkunwar Shinde was placing clothes on an iron cot in the house when she suddenly suffered electric shock. Navnath rushed to help her, but was electrocuted. Their son Shivaji also suffered injuries. The power supply was disconnected immediately,” the official said.
