Araria, Nov 5 A 38-year-old fireman was found dead in a roadside ditch in Bihar’s Araria district on Thursday, police said.
His body was recovered near YaduNandan-Pavitri Degree College under the Raniganj Police Station limits, a senior officer said.
The deceased, identified as Pradeep Kumar, was a resident of Shrichandpur village in Begusarai and was posted in Araria.
Araria SDPO Sushil Kumar said, “A police team rushed to the site after receiving information that the fireman was found dead in a roadside ditch near YNP Degree College. A thorough investigation is underway to ascertain the exact circumstances leading to the death.”
The colleagues of the fireman did not find him in the morning and started searching for him, and found his body in the ditch, he said.
The body has been sent for post-mortem examination, the officer added.
