Vadodara, Sep 8: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday took a swipe at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Chhatron Ki Goonj’ initiative, saying the country’s youth would stand with the truth and would not be misled by what he described as the Jooth ki Goonj “echo of lies”.
Addressing a gathering, largely comprising youngsters, in Vadodara, Modi said attempts were being made in various places to mislead the public.
“At every nook and corner, you will find people who will try to mislead you through ‘Jooth Ki Goonj’, but today’s youth will stand with the truth,” he said.
The Prime Minister was speaking after inaugurating development projects and laying foundation stones for projects worth around Rs 35,000 crore.
Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Chhatron Ki Goonj’ is a national student outreach and dialogue campaign being organised in different cities. Through the initiative, the Congress has been raising issues concerning students and young people, including examination paper leaks, expensive education, alleged irregularities in government recruitment and unemployment.
Modi also highlighted the government’s focus on developing the country’s energy infrastructure. He said work was being carried out across sectors including solar, wind, hydro and nuclear energy.
Calling on young people to prepare for the future, the Prime Minister urged them to develop expertise in Artificial Intelligence (AI). “Youth of the country have to become experts in AI, and we want our youth to excel in the field,” Modi said.
