Gurugram, Oct 31 Traffic on the Delhi-Jaipur highway near Khandsa village will be halted three times for 15-20 minutes each on Sunday afternoon to facilitate work on a power transmission line, police said.
According to an advisory issued by the Gurugram Traffic Police on Saturday, the 66 kV SC Harsaru-Sector 35-Badshahpur transmission line crosses the highway near Khandsa village. Its conductor snapped on July 18, resulting in a long traffic jam, police said.
The Haryana Vidyut Prasaran Nigam Limited (HVPNL) is replacing the old conductors with new high-temperature low-sag (HTLS) conductors to strengthen the transmission network and prevent similar incidents, they said.
The work is being carried out on a turnkey basis. To ensure safety during the operation, traffic will be halted or diverted three times for around 15-20 minutes each at the crossing point near Khandsa on Sunday afternoon, November 1, the advisory said.
Motorists have been advised to allow extra travel time and follow police instructions near the Khandsa cut. Commuters can use the service lanes or the Southern Peripheral Road (SPR) to avoid delays, while emergency vehicles will be given priority, it said.
