Deceased relative rejects Social Media Allegations
A major twist has emerged in the controversy surrounding the POCSO case previously registered against Sai Krishna. His former relative by relationship, “Jyothi” (name changed to protect privacy), has publicly rejected the allegations and social media campaigns portraying Sai Krishna as a habitual sexual offender.
Nine years ago, Jyothi and Sai Krishna were in a relationship and had left their homes together after their families opposed their relationship. Since she was a minor at the time, her father filed a POCSO case against Sai Krishna. However, Jyothi now says that false narratives are being spread to portray him as a hardened criminal and that many of the claims currently circulating are completely misleading.
Speaking in a phone interview to a media channel, Jyothi stated that the POCSO case registered against Sai Krishna was based on their relationship and that the court eventually dismissed the case due to lack of evidence. She alleged that social media campaigns are deliberately targeting her family and presenting distorted versions of past events.
“We Did Nothing Wrong”
Jyothi explained that nearly nine years ago she and Sai Krishna were in love, but their families did not approve of their relationship. As a result, they left home together. Since she was a minor at that time, her father lodged a POCSO complaint against Sai Krishna. She stated that the police later traced them and took them into custody.
According to Jyothi, they were kept in police custody for two days, during which a police officer allegedly subjected them to verbal abuse. She maintained that the case arose solely because she was a minor and not because any sexual assault had taken place.
“No Sexual Assault Ever Took Place”
Jyothi strongly denied claims that Sai Krishna or his friends sexually assaulted her. She stated that allegations of rape and other criminal accusations were fabricated to harass Sai Krishna.
She further revealed that she underwent medical examination at a government hospital at the time, and the examination reportedly found no evidence of sexual assault. According to her, the court later dismissed the case. Despite this, she said, certain groups continue to cite the old POCSO case to malign Sai Krishna’s reputation.
Who Is Behind This Campaign of Misinformation?
Following the emergence of the Sai Krishna lockup death case, questions are being raised about the motives behind the ongoing campaigns portraying him as a hardened criminal. Critics argue that in any ordinary situation, a government would have immediately arrested the concerned police officer and ensured an impartial investigation. Instead, they contend that valuable evidence was allowed to disappear after the incident came to light.
Particular concerns have been raised over the disappearance of CCTV footage from Krishnalanka Police Station. According to critics, sustained pressure from opposition leaders and public scrutiny ultimately compelled authorities to suspend CI Nagaraju and later place him under arrest.
At the same time, it is alleged that the suspended officer used his influence to mobilize supporters and organize protests against any action being taken against him. The issue gained further political attention after Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy met Sai Krishna’s family, following which the government announced measures that included the suspension and arrest of the officer concerned.
However, several larger questions remain unanswered. Critics are asking under whose instructions Sai Krishna was allegedly subjected to custodial torture, who provided assurances that enabled the alleged disposal of his body after his death, and who supported efforts to prevent the matter from becoming public. Questions have also been raised about reports that intermediaries were sent to negotiate with the victim’s relatives and discourage further escalation of the issue.
These are matters that, according to those demanding accountability, require clear answers from the government. They argue that only an independent investigation can determine whether any senior officials or influential individuals played a role in the events surrounding the case. For this reason, demands continue to grow for the case to be handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), with supporters of such a move maintaining that only an independent central agency can establish the full facts and identify everyone responsible.
