Meerut, Oct 22 The Congress will hold an organisational conference in Moradabad on October 27 to strengthen its cadre in western Uttar Pradesh and discuss preparations for the upcoming assembly elections, the party said on Thursday.

The conference will begin at 11 am at The Orchid Grand Lawns near Bhuda Chauraha on Eidgah Road in Moradabad. Party office-bearers and workers from the state, district, block and booth levels will participate in the meeting, according to a party statement.

AICC in-charge for Uttar Pradesh Rajendra Pal Gautam, Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee president Aradhana Mishra ‘Mona’, working state president Imran Masood, AICC secretary and former MLA Sanjeev Arya, and senior UPCC vice-president Devendra Nishad are among the leaders expected to attend.

Arya said the conference would discuss strengthening the organisation at the booth level, improving coordination among workers and raising public issues more effectively.

The party aims to increase its engagement with the public alongside election preparations and establish better communication among different levels of the organisation, he said.

UPCC spokesperson and AICC media panellist Abhimanyu Tyagi said the focus would be on making the organisation active at the booth level by connecting it with grassroots issues, voter rights and matters of public interest.

Office-bearers of the state and district Congress committees, sitting and former MPs and MLAs, prospective assembly election candidates and representatives of the party’s frontal organisations are also expected to attend the conference, the party said.

The meeting will deliberate on organisational expansion and preparations for the upcoming assembly elections, it added.
