Chennai, October 28: Thirty Members of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly participated in a two-day Legislators’ Leadership Programme held on October 27 and 28 at Mahabalipuram, jointly organised by the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly and the Meghalaya Legislative Research Fellowship (MLRF) under the Meghalaya Institute of Governance (MIG).
The programme covered key themes including climate action, water management, digital governance, constitutional values and the Preamble to the Constitution. The sessions focused on strengthening legislative leadership, addressing governance challenges and enhancing informed public service.
Meghalaya was represented by Ronnie V. Lyngdoh, Government Deputy Chief Whip; Dr Sampath Kumar, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary and Vice-Chairperson of MLRF; and Stephen Anurag P., NISG Project Officer and Co-Lead of MLRF, Government of Meghalaya.
The sessions were facilitated by representatives from the Madras Institute of Development Studies (MIDS), Madras Christian College (MCC), Ram Kumar, IAS, Germany-based Mohan Damotharan and Samuel Gnanadurai.
The programme was conducted under the leadership of Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly Speaker J. C. D. Prabhakar, with support from the Assembly Secretariat. It brought together legislators and subject experts for discussions on public policy, legislative practices and governance.
