Jehanabad (Bihar), Oct 26 A group of unidentified persons hurled stones and fired shots at the residence of Bhojpuri singer Abhishek Singh in Bihar’s Jehanabad district on Monday, prompting the police to form an SIT to investigate the incident, a senior officer said.
They also vandalised the singer’s car parked outside his house in the Court area, Jehanabad Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Aniket Kumar Dwivedi said.
Singh lodged a complaint, alleging that the attackers hurled stones, fired four to five rounds targeting his house and vandalised his car.
He accused a fellow Bhojpuri singer of being involved in the incident that occurred early on Monday.
“A Bhojpuri singer and I had a dispute. He had sent me threatening messages the previous night,” Singh said without giving details of the dispute.
“The police recovered spent cartridges from the spot. An SIT has been constituted to investigate the case, and raids are underway to arrest the accused. Prima facie, it appears that some personal dispute might be the reason behind the incident,” the officer said.
