Lucknow, Oct 30 BJP national general secretary Vinod Tawde on Friday accused the Samajwadi Party (SP) of attempting to project a new image ahead of the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, saying its character remained unchanged from the period before 2017.
Addressing a meeting of the BJP’s state executive committee, Tawde, who is also the party’s in-charge for Uttar Pradesh, referred to Harishankar Parsai’s satirical work ‘Bhed Aur Bhediye’.
He urged party workers to highlight the differences in law and order, development and public welfare between the previous SP government and the current administration led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
Tawde said the 2027 Assembly elections were not merely about forming a government in Uttar Pradesh but also about strengthening the resolve to build a ‘Viksit Bharat’.
Citing former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, he said the path to Delhi passed through Lucknow and called for a decisive BJP victory in the state.
Recalling the BJP’s victory in the 2017 Assembly elections, when it won 312 seats, Tawde urged party workers to aim for a similar performance.
He stressed the need for booth-level micro-management, door-to-door outreach and effective implementation of organisational strategies to achieve the target.
Tawde also said government schemes were transforming the lives of poor people, farmers and other beneficiaries. He urged party workers to highlight beneficiaries’ experiences under schemes such as the Mukhyamantri Samuhik Vivah Yojana and the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi.
Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s message, “We will do it”, Tawde called on party workers to remain united and meet the organisational targets set by Union Home Minister Amit Shah at the state working committee meeting.
