Gurugram, Oct 27 Gurugram police have launched an investigation after a purported video surfaced on the internet, showing the hurling of stones between two groups near a metro station, officials said on Tuesday.
The video circulating on social media is said to be from Monday night, though its exact date remains unconfirmed, police said.
Passersby recorded the altercation and circulated the video on social media, they said, suggesting that it might be an old video.
However, the viral footage clearly shows an argument breaking out between a group of girls and some boys on the roadside. The conflict escalates, leading both sides to begin throwing stones at each other.
Following this, the girls were seen leaving in an auto-rickshaw, the police said.
“The video is likely old and we have not received any complaint regarding this. The present beneath the Metro station does not match those shown in the video. Based on the video, a probe is underway”, DLF Phase 2 SHO Krishankant Rohilla said.
