Ranchi, Oct 28 More than 10,000 workers of the RJD from Jharkhand will participate in the mega rally at Ramlila Maidan in New Delhi on November 1, party leaders said on Wednesday.
Organised by the Congress as part of its “Vote Bachao, Desh Bachao” campaign, the rally is expected to draw leaders and workers from across the country, including constituents of the INDIA bloc.
“Over 10,000 RJD leaders and workers from Jharkhand will head to Ramlila Maidan in New Delhi on November 1 to take part in the INDIA bloc’s rally, carrying flags and banners to protest against the misdeeds of Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” RJD legislature party leader Suresh Paswan told a press conference here.
He alleged that the Centre’s failure to pay royalties to Jharkhand was hampering the state’s development.
He claimed thousands of eligible voters were being removed from electoral rolls, effectively depriving them of their voting rights.
The RJD would protest against the issue both on the streets and in the state Assembly, he said.
“Under the leadership of Tejashwi Yadav, party workers would travel to Delhi to agitate against the policies and principles of the BJP-led government at the Centre,” Paswan said.
