Lucknow, Oct 15 A ‘Namo Digital Temple’ dedicated to Prime Minister Narendra Modi was launched here on Thursday.
Dr Rajan Singh, who laid the foundation stone of the digital temple at an event here, is a former vice-chairman of the Bihar government’s ‘Kinnar’ (Transgender) Welfare Board.
Singh said the transgender community had benefited from Modi’s initiatives and claimed that, for the first time in Bihar, members of the community had been recruited as police sub-inspectors and appointed to other important positions.
He said he regarded Modi as akin to a god because of these efforts.
Singh said the Bihar Kinnar Welfare Board had passed a proposal in July this year to construct a temple dedicated to Modi.
A proposal seeking the allocation of land for the project has been submitted to the Bihar government, he said.
Once the state government provides land, a physical temple dedicated to Modi will be established, Singh said. In the meantime, the temple has been presented in a digital format, allowing people to access it online and seek a virtual darshan of the prime minister, he added.
A ‘Chalisa’ highlighting key achievements during Modi’s tenure as prime minister has also been uploaded to the digital temple and can be read by visitors, Singh said.
The proposed ‘Namo Digital Temple’ is envisioned as a platform to connect people through digital media and bring together faith and service, he added.
