Bengaluru, Oct 28 Karnataka Chief Minister D K Shivakumar on Wednesday directed that guarantee implementation committees be constituted at the panchayat level and asked their members to maintain close contact with beneficiaries to ensure effective implementation of the state government’s guarantee schemes.
Speaking after launching the dashboard and social media platforms of the State Guarantee Implementation Committee, he stressed the need to strengthen public outreach and counter misinformation about the schemes.
“Guarantee implementation committees are being constituted at the panchayat level as well. Members of these committees should remain in close contact with beneficiaries and contribute to the effective implementation of the guarantee schemes,” Shivakumar said, according to a statement by his office.
Emphasising the need to counter misinformation, he asked the committee to regularly share information and beneficiaries’ feedback on social media platforms.
“Information about the guarantee schemes and the views of beneficiaries should be shared on social media from time to time to curb misinformation and propaganda against these schemes,” he said.
The CM also directed committee members to visit the homes of beneficiaries and put up ‘Guarantee Mane’ (Guarantee Home) stickers to increase awareness about the benefits provided by the government.
“Members of the guarantee implementation committees should visit every beneficiary’s home and put up a ‘Guarantee Mane’ sticker. They should explain to beneficiaries the benefits provided by the government through the guarantee schemes and effectively use social media at all levels,” he said.
State Guarantee Implementation Committee chairman H M Revanna said the newly launched dashboard would provide detailed information on government expenditure under the guarantee schemes, including district-wise and taluk-wise data.
The dashboard also provides access to government orders related to the schemes, contact details of officials and a repository of success stories, he said.
Revanna further said a platform named ‘Guarantee Katte’ would be created to facilitate interaction between committee members and beneficiaries and enable them to exchange views on the implementation of the schemes.
Guarantee implementation committees are multi-tier advisory and monitoring bodies formed by the Karnataka government to oversee, track, and support the execution of its five flagship guarantee schemes: Anna Bhagya, Shakti, Gruha Jyothi, Gruha Lakshmi, and Yuva Nidhi.
