Bengaluru, Oct 29 Karnataka Chief Minister D K Shivakumar has warned against anyone approaching him with transfer recommendation letters for government officials and employees, asserting that no transfers will be permitted from November 1 except for routine transfers, official sources said on Thursday.

In a stern message, the chief minister asked officials and public representatives to stop approaching him with transfer recommendation letters and instead focus on government work and public service, they said.

“Nobody should approach me with transfer recommendation letters,” the CM said, stressing that the administration must prioritise the effective implementation of government schemes and ensure that benefits reach eligible beneficiaries, according to officials.

He also directed officials to address public grievances promptly and cautioned that negligence in public service would invite strict action.

“I will not tolerate recommendations or pressure for transfers,” the chief minister said, underlining the need for officials to discharge their responsibilities.

Shivakumar emphasised that authority and influence should be used to serve the people rather than to seek transfers.

He urged all concerned to take the directive seriously and work toward better governance for the people.
