Chandigarh, Oct 27 Haryana secured investment proposals worth approximately Rs 12,000 crore on the first day of Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini’s visit to Gujarat, marking a significant step towards accelerating industrial growth and strengthening its position as a preferred investment destination, an official statement said.
Agreements were signed with various companies across key sectors, reflecting growing investor confidence in Haryana’s industrial ecosystem and the state government’s sustained efforts to attract investment and promote industrial development.
Leading a high-level delegation to Gujarat for a two-day visit, Saini held one-on-one meetings with founders, Managing Directors (MDs) and Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) of several companies, the statement said.
The discussions focused on expanding existing business operations in Haryana, establishing new industrial units and exploring fresh investment opportunities. Industries and Commerce Minister Rao Narbir Singh was also present.
The memorandums of understanding (MoUs) signed during the visit include proposed investments of Rs 5,000 crore in defence textiles, Rs 2,000 crore in technical textiles and Rs 500 crore in industrial machinery.
Agreements were also reached for investments of Rs 400 crore in solar energy and cosmetics manufacturing, and Rs 4,000 crore in the waste-to-energy sector.
Saini reaffirmed the State Government’s commitment to extending comprehensive support to investors and entrepreneurs, emphasising that attracting investment and generating employment opportunities for the youth remain key priorities.
He said Haryana is making sustained efforts to further improve ease of doing business and create a conducive environment for investment.
The government is committed to facilitating the establishment and expansion of industries by providing a progressive policy framework, robust industrial infrastructure, improved connectivity and essential services through a single-window mechanism.
Saini said particular emphasis has been laid on simplifying regulatory procedures, ensuring time-bound approvals and strengthening interdepartmental coordination to facilitate investment and industrial growth.
He also invited industrialists and investors to participate in the ‘Happening Haryana Global Summit’, scheduled to be held in the state in April 2027.
Describing the MoUs as an important step towards expanding Haryana’s industrial base, the chief minister said the proposed investments would encourage the growth of ancillary industries, foster new business partnerships and strengthen the state’s industrial capabilities.
He said the implementation of these proposals is expected to generate new employment opportunities for the youth, stimulate local economic activity and contribute to the state’s overall economic growth.
During his visit to Gujarat, Saini also interacted with diaspora entrepreneurs from Haryana and representatives of Gujarat’s industrial sector at a Pravasi Milan Samaroh held in Surat on Tuesday.
He said that Haryana’s diaspora entrepreneurs, who have achieved success in Gujarat through their hard work, entrepreneurial spirit and vision, have not only established their own identities but have also made significant contributions towards strengthening economic and industrial cooperation between the two states.
Saini said that the relationship between Haryana and Gujarat is not limited to business alone but is also rooted in the cultural heritage, industrious spirit and shared commitment to nation-building of both states.
Saini said there is significant potential for cooperation in auto components, machinery, textiles, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, electronics and logistics.
Expanding businesses established in Gujarat into Haryana, setting up new production units, and developing warehouses and technical facilities could prove beneficial for both states.
On the occasion, Chief Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Rajesh Khullar, Director General of the Industries and Commerce Department Yash Garg, and Managing Director of the Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation, Vinay Pratap Singh, were also present.
