Raipur, Oct 27 The Chhattisgarh cabinet on Tuesday approved a cashless medical treatment facility for government employees and their dependent family members, officials said.

The approval was given at a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai at his official residence in Civil Lines here, a government release said.

Under the new system, state government employees will no longer have to pay medical expenses upfront at hospitals and undergo a lengthy reimbursement process later, it said.

They will be able to avail cashless treatment at empanelled hospitals, with pre-authorisation and claims processing carried out online through digital platforms.

The facility is expected to provide immediate medical care and significant financial relief to government employees and their families, particularly during serious illnesses and health emergencies, the release added.

The cabinet also approved the guidelines for the ‘Mukhyamantri Adhosanrachna Mission-2026’ (Chief Minister Infrastructure Mission-2026), aimed at improving infrastructure planning, project preparation, quality, monitoring and maintenance, it said.

The mission will run for five years, from financial years 2026-27 to 2030-31, with a proposed outlay of Rs 500 crore, or Rs 100 crore annually. The Public Works Department will be the nodal agency for the programme, while the Chhattisgarh Road and Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd (CGRIDCL) will implement it, according to the release.

The mission will focus on preparing a master plan for the state’s road network, data-based assessment of infrastructure needs, advance preparation of project surveys and detailed project reports (DPRs), digitisation of works, GIS-based integrated planning, quality and road safety audits, and promotion of public-private partnerships (PPPs) and innovative financing models, it said.

The cabinet also approved the ‘Mukhyamantri Paryatan Vikas Mission’ (Chief Minister Tourism Development Mission) for the comprehensive development of the sector. The mission, with the theme ‘Prosperity through Tourism’, will be implemented over five years with a proposed outlay of around Rs 500 crore, said the release.

It aims to improve infrastructure, connectivity, amenities, safety and cleanliness at tourist destinations while promoting homestays, private investment and tourism entrepreneurship.

The initiative is expected to create employment and self-employment opportunities for local youth, women and self-help groups, while enhancing Chhattisgarh’s profile on the national and international tourism map, it added.

The cabinet also gave nod to the framework for the ‘Mukhyamantri Khel Utkarsh Mission’ (Chief Minister Sports Excellence Mission), which envisages a structured system for developing athletes from talent identification to medal-winning performances.

A budget provision of Rs 100 crore has been made for the mission in FY 2026-27, the release stated.

Talented sportspersons will be identified through schools, selection camps and talent hunts. They will subsequently receive basic training at feeder centres, advanced sport-specific training at state sports academies, and specialised coaching, sports science support and performance analysis at high-performance centres, it said.

The mission will identify core and development groups across 10 major sporting disciplines and provide targeted assistance and exposure to medal prospects. In the first phase, feeder centres will be established in Ambikapur, Bilaspur, Raipur, Durg, Jagdalpur and Jashpur, the release added.
