Kolkata, Oct 30 The state government on Friday extended the deadline for its employees, pensioners and their enrolled beneficiaries under the West Bengal Health Scheme (WBHS) to surrender their Swasthya Sathi and Ayushman Bharat cards by a month till November 30, a senior official said.

The earlier deadline for surrendering the cards and submitting the prescribed declaration along with proof of surrender was October 31, he said.

Referring to an order issued by the finance department’s medical cell, the government said a considerable number of employees, pensioners and their beneficiaries were yet to complete the surrender process and submit the required documents.

The directive applies to all state government employees and pensioners, including those belonging to the All India Services (AIS), and their enrolled beneficiaries under the WBHS who hold Swasthya Sathi and/or Ayushman Bharat cards, it added.

Incidentally, the order also stated that all other terms, conditions and instructions contained in the earlier order dated October 9 would remain unchanged.

Heads of offices, drawing and disbursing officers (DDOs) and pension-sanctioning authorities have been asked to take necessary steps to ensure compliance within the extended timeline.
