New Delhi, Nov 4 A Delhi Police woman head constable has helped 119 missing children find their way back to their families over the past year, bringing relief to scores of anxious parents.

An officer on Wednesday appreciated Head Constable Chanchal, posted at Jaitpur police station in southeast Delhi, for her “painstaking investigations and relentless searches” in helping reunite the missing children with their families.

Between November 2025 to October 2026, Chanchal traced 119 missing children and 16 other missing persons, the officer added

“Of the 119 children, 41 were below the age of 14, while 78 were in the 14-18 age group. Her efforts involved developing intelligence, using technical assistance, conducting persistent follow-ups and coordinating with child care homes, NGOs and Child Welfare Committees across Delhi-NCR and other states,” the officer said.

The police said her investigative skills, meticulous planning and coordination played a crucial role in tracing the missing children and facilitating their reunion with their families.

The officer further said that tracing children below 14 years is particularly significant as they are among the most vulnerable to exploitation and trafficking.

She also traced 16 missing persons above the age of 18 during the 12-month period, taking the total number of persons traced to 135.
