Ayodhya, Nov 2 Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday reviewed preparations for Deepotsav-2026 in Ayodhya and directed officials to ensure that devotees, tourists and other visitors face no inconvenience during the celebrations.
Chairing a meeting with public representatives and senior officials at the PFC auditorium in the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi complex, Adityanath stressed that all arrangements should be completed within the stipulated timeline through coordination among departments, according to a state government statement.
“Every visitor to Ayodhya should have a pleasant experience, and no instance of mismanagement should arise at any level,” the chief minister said.
He directed officials to make special arrangements for VVIP guests, saints and other distinguished visitors, while ensuring adequate facilities for devotees arriving from across the country and abroad.
Emphasising drinking water, sanitation and security arrangements, Adityanath said cleanliness should be maintained continuously along major roads, at ghats and across event venues.
“Keeping the large number of devotees in mind, security and traffic management arrangements must be made effective. The concerned departments must discharge their responsibilities within the stipulated timeline and continuously monitor the preparations,” he said.
The chief minister also appealed to residents, traders and institutions to actively participate in the celebrations by lighting earthen lamps (diyas) at their homes, commercial establishments and premises.
“The grandeur of Deepotsav should not remain confined to the event venues but should reflect the participation of the entire district,” he said, urging educational, social and other institutions to join the initiative to illuminate the temple town.
Adityanath directed officials to regularly visit different areas to assess the progress of preparations and immediately address any shortcomings identified during inspections.
He emphasised that all arrangements should be completed on time to ensure the smooth conduct of the celebrations.
Public representatives, the divisional commissioner and senior officials from various departments attended the review meeting.
