Lucknow, Oct 31 Attempting to score a hat-trick of wins in Uttar Pradesh assembly elections, BJP leaders on Saturday emphasised the need for a comprehensive plan for door-to-door public outreach, activating the organisation up to the booth level and coordination among various teams at a strategy meeting here.

BJP national general secretary and UP in-charge Vinod Tawde said that the election hinges on “micromanagement” and by completing election preparations in time or ahead of schedule, “we can achieve results that surpass those of 2017”, a party statement said.

The Bharatiya Janata Party’s election strategy meeting concluded on Saturday at the UP BJP headquarters.

Tawde directed that the appointment of ‘pravasi prabharis’ at the assembly constituency level be expedited, and that election management committees be constituted at both the district and assembly constituency levels.

He instructed all district in-charges to complete their visits to the assembly constituencies promptly, and for all assembly-level in-charges to ensure they conduct visits to the ‘Shakti Kendras’ (party’s grassroots organisational units), the state BJP said in the statement.

Tawde said that assembly-level in-charges and ‘vistarak’ must immediately begin holding meetings with active party members at the mandal (local/zonal) level and ensure visits to the ‘Shakti Kendras’.

He said that, as part of the party’s door-to-door outreach campaign, one party worker will be assigned the responsibility for every 50 households.

The national general secretary emphasised the need to develop a comprehensive plan for door-to-door public outreach.

This involves creating a strategy to engage with various segments of society, including women, youth, first-time voters, farmers who have benefited from government schemes, small-scale traders, intellectuals, ex-servicemen and various social and religious organisations, the statement said.

Additionally, a coordination team will be formed at the district level.

He urged party members to reach out to the beneficiaries of the public welfare schemes implemented by the central government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the state BJP government under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to “seek their support and blessings” for the BJP.

He also stressed the importance of discussing with the public the firm decisions taken by the government, as well as progress in areas such as development, security, and the nation’s economic and strategic advancement.

UP BJP president and Union Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary said that during the State Working Committee meeting — held in the presence of the esteemed Union Home Minister Amit Shah — a resolution was adopted to implement the roadmap for upcoming electoral preparations with complete dedication, momentum, and commitment.

He said that the time has now come for us to shift into ‘election mode’ with full energy.

Starting November 3, large-scale ‘padyatras’ will be organised across all six organisational regions of the state under the ‘Loktantra Bachao, Arajakta Hatao’ campaign.

He also emphasised that the “definite mantra for winning elections lies in our booths”.

“We must prioritise the verification of electoral rolls and the special revision campaign. We need to build a robust team of party workers to conduct outreach across all 1,918 ‘mandals’ (organisational units) in the state,” he said in the statement.

General Secretary (Organisation) UP BJP Dharampal Singh said that District Election Steering Committees and Assembly Election Steering Committees must be formed.

He said that the most significant initiative leading up to Diwali is the series of ‘padyatras’ to be organised at the regional level under the ‘Loktantra Bachao – Arajakta Hatao’ campaign. Each of these ‘padyatras’ is expected to involve a gathering of at least 25,000 people.

He added that after Diwali, the party will focus on the electoral roll revision process, with a special drive to ensure that young people complete and submit ‘Form 6’ (for voter registration).

He stated that all former public representatives are to be integrated into the organisation’s activities, and the district unit presidents have been tasked with preparing a list of these individuals.

Dharampal Singh emphasised the need to identify and engage with various segments of society, including youth, women, intellectuals, laborers, the business community, street vendors and small-scale traders, to establish meaningful contact and dialogue.

He stressed that for the upcoming assembly elections, the organisation must be activated down to the booth level, outreach to the maximum number of voters must be ensured, and all party workers and office-bearers must be assigned responsibilities and actively engaged based on their individual qualifications and capabilities.
