Pune, Oct 30 Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Friday downplayed the significance of his sharing the stage with cousins Uddhav and Raj Thackeray, saying there had been no political discussion or closed-door meeting during the event.
On Thursday, Fadnavis, Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray and MNS chief Raj Thackeray were together at the launch of a book documenting the works and profiles of 75 cartoonists in Mumbai.
“It was a very nice programme. The three of us attended it as literature enthusiasts. The speeches were light-hearted and filled with humour. It reflected Maharashtra’s cultural ethos, where people can come together at such events despite ideological differences and political disagreements,” the chief minister told reporters here.
Fadnavis was speaking on the sidelines of the inauguration of six manufacturing facilities of EKA Mobility & group of companies and EKA SCV plant.
People appreciated the book launch and expressed hope that more such programmes would be organised, the CM further said.
“There is no other political meaning to it. I saw reports suggesting that the three of us had a closed-door meeting. There was no such meeting or political discussion. We were sitting in the waiting area with some cartoonists before going on stage together. The discussion was entirely light-hearted,” Fadnavis said.
