New Delhi, Oct 29 : Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi has urged students and people from all political backgrounds to participate in the INDIA bloc’s ‘Chalo Delhi’ march on November 1. He said the protest aims to protect democracy, stop alleged vote theft and defend the Indian Constitution.

In a video message shared on X, Rahul Gandhi described the Ramlila Maidan march as a movement for the nation rather than an event organised for any single political party. He appealed to citizens who are concerned about democracy and constitutional rights to join the protest.

Rahul Gandhi Appeals to Student Groups

Rahul Gandhi called on student organisations, regardless of their political affiliations, to participate in the march. He said young people should come forward if they believe their freedom of expression, ideas and way of thinking are under threat.

He also urged participants not to be afraid of police action, saying the protest was intended to bring people together to protect the Constitution and the country.

Gandhi criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar while calling for action against alleged electoral irregularities.

INDIA Bloc Plans Protest Over Alleged Vote Theft

The INDIA bloc has planned a series of protests against alleged irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.

On October 30, opposition leaders are scheduled to hold a public impeachment proceeding against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar at Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge’s residence at 10 Rajaji Marg in New Delhi.

The opposition has raised concerns over the electoral roll revision process and alleged vote theft. These allegations are central to its campaign for electoral transparency and accountability.

‘Dilli Chalo’ March to Culminate at Ramlila Maidan

Following the October 30 programme, the INDIA bloc will organise the ‘Dilli Chalo’ march on November 1. The march is scheduled to culminate at Ramlila Maidan in New Delhi, where a rally will also be held.

Rahul Gandhi said the protest would bring together citizens who want to defend democratic values and constitutional rights. He expressed confidence that the march would serve as a platform for people to raise concerns about electoral transparency and the future of Indian democracy.

The INDIA bloc’s November 1 march is expected to be a key part of the opposition’s campaign against alleged vote theft and its demand for greater accountability in the electoral process.
