The accused committed the murder while partying with the victim in the latter’s cab on Saturday night. An FIR was registered, and the police arrested the accused cab driver within hours of the murder, they added.
According to the police, the cab driver was found murdered in the front seat of the car in the Sector 77 area on Sunday morning. Injury marks were found on the deceased’s neck, and the window of the car was broken.
The deceased was identified as Prakash (50).
Based on a complaint filed by Prakash’s younger brother Nirmal, an FIR of murder was registered at the BPTP police station, and the accused was arrested. The accused was identified as Kundan, a resident of Chandpur in Faridabad, who confessed to the murder, police said.
“During interrogation, it was revealed that the accused Kundan and the deceased Prakash had known each other for about four years, and both worked as cab drivers. Kundan used to get his taxi permit processed through Prakash,” a Faridabad police spokesperson said.
