Chandigarh, Oct 26 Over 37.27 lakh metric tonnes of paddy have arrived in Haryana mandis till Monday, of which 30.69 lakh metric tonnes have been procured.

Haryana’s Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister Rajesh Nagar said that the state government is committed to ensuring smooth, transparent and timely procurement of paddy from farmers.

During the Kharif Marketing Season 2026-27, paddy arrivals, procurement, lifting and payments to farmers under the Minimum Support Price (MSP) system are continuing across the state’s mandis, he said.

The government’s primary focus is to ensure that farmers face no difficulties in selling their produce and receive a fair price for their crops on time, the Minister said here.

Rajesh Nagar said that, as of Monday 8 am, over 37.27 lakh metric tonnes of paddy had arrived in Haryana, of which 30.69 lakh metric tonnes had been procured. Against the Government of India’s procurement target of 58 lakh metric tonnes, Haryana had achieved about 53 per cent of the target.

He added that daily arrivals stood at approximately 1.01 lakh metric tonnes. He further said that 23.34 lakh metric tonnes of procured paddy had been lifted, accounting for approximately 76 per cent of the total procurement.

The Minister emphasised that timely lifting of procured paddy from mandis is essential to ensure adequate space for incoming produce and prevent inconvenience to farmers bringing their crops to the markets.

Nagar said that 2,22,154 farmers had benefited from the paddy procurement process so far, and approximately Rs 4,263 crore had been paid to farmers under the Minimum Support Price system.

He directed procurement agencies to complete payment procedures on time, in accordance with prescribed rules, so that farmers do not face unnecessary delays.

The Minister also said that paddy procurement in Haryana is being carried out through the Food and Civil Supplies Department, the Haryana State Cooperative Supply and Marketing Federation Limited (HAFED), and the Haryana State Warehousing Corporation (HSWC).

According to district-wise data available up to October 25, Kurukshetra recorded paddy arrivals of 8.23 lakh metric tonnes and procurement of 7.64 lakh metric tonnes. The district has lifted 6.47 lakh metric tonnes, representing approximately 84.75 per cent of its total procurement.

Kaithal recorded arrivals of 6.76 lakh metric tonnes and procurement of 5.94 lakh metric tonnes, with more than 4.55 lakh metric tonnes lifted.
