Chandrapur, Oct 24 A tiger that had killed three people in recent months was captured by the forest department in Saoli Forest range in the district on Saturday.
Elsewhere, a 6-month-old female leopard was run over by a train on Ballarpur-Gondia line during the day, officials said.
A Forest Department team succeeded in capturing ‘T-122,’ a six-year-old tiger that had terrorised the population in Samda, Nilsani, Pedgaon, Sonapur, and Wagholi-Buti.
The tiger had killed three cattle grazers.
As part of the special operation launched on September 27 to capture the animal, the Chandrapur Forest Department had employed a 30×30 ft cage designed by Range Forest Officer Ghanshyam Naigamkar and biologist Rakesh Ahuja, officials said.
