Thane, Oct 23 The Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) has suspended three senior officials for alleged mismanagement during Navratri idol immersions at Masunda Lake.
The action was taken after Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde expressed strong displeasure over shoddy planning and the absence of responsible personnel at designated immersion sites.
The suspended officials include Chief Fire Officer Girish Zhalke, Naupada-Kopri Ward Assistant Commissioner Maheshkumar Jamnor, and Executive Engineer Hrishikesh Javalkar.
The assigned officers were allegedly absent from the immersion site, resulting in chaotic conditions, as per an official inquiry.
