Thane, Oct 23 A man out on a morning walk in Kalyan in Thane district was killed in a hit-and-run accident involving a Mercedes car, a police official said on Friday.
The incident took place on Thursday in Niki Nagar area, the Khadakpada police station official added.
“Sunil Koli was hit by a Mercedes car, which left the scene without stopping. Such was the impact that Koli was thrown towards a roadside decorative arch. The incident has been caught on CCTV cameras in the vicinity,” the official said.
Incidentally, before CCTV footage emerged, there was speculation on whether his death was caused by some medical emergency, he added.
“All efforts are on to trace and nab the driver of the luxury vehicle. A case has been registered and further probe is underway,” he said.
