New Delhi, Oct 26 The Social Justice and Empowerment Ministry on Monday launched an online quiz to raise awareness about the harmful effects of substance use and encourage youth to contribute to the vision of a drug-free India.

The ‘Nasha Mukt Yuva, Viksit Bharat Quiz’, being organised under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan (NMBA), will remain open from October 26 to November 25, and is accessible to all citizens through the MY Bharat portal.

The quiz will comprise 20 multiple-choice questions to be answered within 10 minutes. Participants who submit the quiz will receive a participation certificate and be able to view the correct answers.

The ministry said the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan, launched on August 15, 2020, aims to reduce drug demand through preventive education, awareness generation, treatment, rehabilitation and community participation.

Initially launched in 272 vulnerable districts, the campaign has since expanded to cover all districts across the country.

The campaign has reached over 35 crore people, including 13 crore youth and 10 crore women, reflecting the scale of its awareness and outreach initiatives, the ministry said.

As the campaign enters its seventh year, the quiz aims to deepen public understanding of the harmful effects of substance use, promote informed decision-making and encourage young people to spread awareness about substance use prevention.

The initiative seeks to strengthen community participation and mobilise citizens, particularly youth, as ambassadors of awareness against substance use, the ministry said.
