Sambhal (UP), Oct 26 Yoga guru Ramdev on Monday claimed that AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi was “very good” for Uttar Pradesh, as votes can get divided among sections of voters, benefiting Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in the 2027 assembly polls.
Talking to reporters after attending the provincial Arya Mahasammelan in Babrala, Sambhal district, Ramdev was asked about Owaisi’s remark that even if Akhilesh Yadav’s government did not come to power in Uttar Pradesh, “Abdul’s government” would certainly be formed.
“Owaisi may or may not be good for other places, but he is very good for Uttar Pradesh because the splitting of votes among certain sections will greatly benefit Yogi ji,” Ramdev said.
Asked whether he would like to see Adityanath become the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh for a third consecutive term, Ramdev said he wanted “good souls” to govern the country.
“ In accordance with the principles of Maharishi Dayanand and the Vedas, which embody Aryan values and divinity, such people should establish their influence everywhere,” he added.
Reacting to Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge’s remark against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Ramdev said such statements were inappropriate.
“Nobody should make such lowly remarks, whether from the ruling side or the opposition,” he said.
On the current state of Sanatan Dharma and allegations that it was being defamed, Ramdev said its image was being tarnished by hypocrisy, ostentation, superstition and religious pretence.
He alleged that some people were bringing disrepute to religion by impersonating Lord Ram, Krishna, Hanuman and Shiva and misusing the names of scriptures and pilgrimage sites.
Ramdev said Maharishi Dayanand presented the pure form of Sanatan Dharma through the Arya Samaj, emphasising the worship of one God, considering righteous action a duty, respecting parents and elders, and eliminating caste-based discrimination and social hierarchies. He said the British and anti-India forces had sown the seeds of division through exploitation, internal discord, lies and deceit.
He called for eliminating hypocrisy, superstition and mutual hostility to establish Sanatan Dharma as one of the world’s foremost religions.
